When guys fight, they beat each other's brains out and usually
wind up best friends after that. When girls fight, they claw and kick, and afterwards they hate each other forever. When a
guy gets mad, he yells. When a girl gets mad, she freezes you out and won't tell you why, at least til you do ten or twelve
more things wrong so that she can bitch you out for all of them at once.
I've heard women over the years say things
like "If women ran the world, there would be no war." That's crap. There would not only be war, but no one would ever tell
each other why they were fighting, and wars would go on forever.
A man wakes up, goes to work, gets stuck in traffic,
comes home, plays with his kids, goes to bed and in the morning it starts all over again. When a man goes to see a movie,
he wants to see things blow up and know who the bad guys are so that the good guys can win. A woman, on the other hand, wakes
up, goes to work, gets stuck in traffic, comes home, takes care of her kids, goes to bed and in the morning it starts all
over again....and when she goes to see a movie she wants to see one about a woman who wakes up, goes to work, gets stuck in
traffic, comes home, takes care of her kids, etc. Chick movies are all about people and events and feelings and relationships.
In a guy movie, someone dies at the beginning and he spends the rest of the movie getting revenge. In a chick movie, someone
usually dies at the end so that they can wring that last little bit of emotion out of you.
Women think that men are
violent, uncaring brutes. But what is a man supposed to do when his wife's Christmas party is taken over by terrorists, or
his daughter is kidnapped by Special Forces commandoes? People think that men want to keep women barefoot and pregnant, but
this just isn't true; just ask any guy what he thought of Linda Hamilton in The Terminator, or Sigourney Weaver in Aliens,
or Angelina Jolie in Tomb Raider.
Look at movies like Terms of Endearment or Steel Magnolias. There's not much plot,
just a series of big events like births, weddings, deaths. Everyone makes big speeches about how they feel and they're all
so insightful and self-aware. And then a main character dies and they all cry and thats the end. Guys aren't made like that;
we don't talk about our feelings so much, we have to SHOW that we care. Usually that involves killing terrorists or blowing
things up.
Guys get a bad rap. You always hear about guys beating up women. To make things worse, the guys who don't
beat up women always say something stupid like the woman getting beaten doesn't just leave the guy that's beating her up so
like its partly her own fault or something, which is wrong in so many ways and only makes the rest of us look like pigs.
When
guys beat up women, sometimes it takes a while for the woman to get help, and it can be frustrating when you're telling someone
that she needs to get help and she won't do it, but eventually most of them go to shelters or get counseling or whatever,
and that's good. But the one who really needs counseling is the guy who's beating her up, and you never hear of a guy seeking
help for something like that unless he's forced to. I'm sure it happens, but it's not that common. And it only makes the rest
of us look like pigs.
Don't get me wrong. I know people who say that guys like that should be castrated or dropped
off a cliff or something. I get as mad as anyone, but I still think the best thing for them would be anger management therapy,
or getting involved in a church, or doing something that helps them stop beating people up. Short of that, if there was justice
in the world, I think the best thing would be for them to grow old and die alone. But of course you couldn't enforce that.
The point is, a lot of women think all guys are like that. That's why you start seeing movies like Thelma and Louise
or that one where Farrah Fawcett took hostage the guy who raped her. It's revenge.
In short, the mistake women make
is thinking that all guys are pigs. The mistake guys make is defending the guys who are pigs.
Women should be cherished,
and honored, and loved. Instead they're called bitches and treated like possessions. When I was a kid people used to talk
about "Women's Lib" and equal rights, so how did we get from there to here, with all the liberals in Hollywood making excuses
for a President who calls his mistress "that woman" and commits in his own office what anyone else would call harassment?
How does recording songs about beating women and calling them bitches become a free speech issue? I mean, scream all you want
about free speech, my question is WHY would anyone say that? Why would anyone listen?
Women's groups tend to get political
about stuff and point a lot of fingers at politicians, especially conservative politicians. But I think there's blame enough
to go around and changes are only going to happen in our homes and schools, not in Washington and not in the recording studio.
When that happens people will stop buying those kind of records and voting for those kind of leaders. And if conservative
politicians need to be held accountable, and they DO, then so do liberals and moderates and record producers and people who
make movies and tv shows.
