And Yet Still More Random Thoughts

Letters From Indiana

These are not letters from the State of Indiana, but letters written by my son, Indiana. We named him after Indiana Jones. As I write this, he is five years old.

Indy and his brother were going to be at their mom's house on the weekend of Easter, and he was afraid that the Easter Bunny would forget to fill his easter basket, so he wrote him a letter.

From that point, we started spending some of our reading time in the evenings writing letters to people of interest.

The first letters were kind of bland, I thought, but they gradually get a bit more interesting. And I promise I do not coach him on what to say, although if he asks I'll help him with his spelling.

The Easter Bunny

First letter:
Dear Easter Bunny,
Don't forget Quinn and Indy live here and don't forget to leave Quinn and Indy's easter baskets please

Second letter:
Dear Easter Bunny,
Thank you for the candy. Do you live at the North Pole with Santa Claus and Superman?
Love, Indy

God

Dear God,
Why are bugs so small? If they were bigger would they eat us?
Love, Indy

Post Cereal

Dear Post Cereal,
We love Pebbles. Why doesn't Barney buy his own cereal?
Love, Indy

A Response From Post Cereal!

Also included were two coupons for free boxes of cereal! Indy got Oreo-Os and something else I forget what...

President Bush

Dear President Bush,
My name is Indy. How old were you when you chopped down the cherry tree?
Love, Indy

A Response From The President!
Also included were an 8x10 of the President and his wife, and a picture of their dogs. I know it's just a form letter, but still, this is one for the scrapbooks.
